Children are born with an innate sense of curiosity. Enhance your child’s curiosity by trying an experiment or activity at home. The experiments listed on this page are to be done by a child with the assistance of an adult. Most are easy to do at home experiments that your family can enjoy together. Pick something they may have learned at school or the Lab and expand on their interest. Or start with one of their favorite topics and go from there. It’s important to involve them and let them lead the way. You never know what you’ll learn and what you may learn about your child.
Northern Virginia Science Center Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that operates the Children's Science Center Lab at Fair Oaks Mall and STEM programs traveling to schools and other community venues across the region. The Foundation is also developing the Northern Virginia Science Center in Dulles, VA, a world-class, interactive regional science center for families, students and learners of all ages made possible through a pivotal public-private partnership.
