Join the Children Science Center Lab's Youth Advisory Board (YAB) on Saturday, February 28th to embark on an engineering expedition! Build working electrical circuits out of conductive clay, engineer your own bouncy ball, program robots, and more! The Youth Advisory Board is made up of high school students from across the DMV area who are dedicated to sharing their love of STEM with the community. The Lab is bursting into bloom for the National Cherry Blossom Festival! Dive into the beauty, traditions, and innovations of Japan with exploration-focused activities that blend art, science, and culture. Program a robot, create cherry blossom origami to take home, and explore the Lab during the cherry blossom scavenger hunt as you learn more about the science and history behind these iconic blooms.

Celebrate the start of cherry blossom season at the Blossom Bash! This special value-add event is free with your timed entry ticket, and includes special activities available for one day only! Experiment with magnetic levitation, gather threads to weave a kumihimo cord, fold paper into origami innovations, engineer a flying fish kite, and get your very own 3-D printed cherry blossom. Plus, be the first to experience all the new fun available at the Lab during the Cherry Blossom Festival! This special event is free with your timed entry ticket.

Join us during our Winter Wonder Lab, featuring wintry decorations and special activities all season long! Embark on an arctic animal expedition, create an animated story with stop motion in the Tinker Shop, and put your slime to the test at the Experiment Bar Slime Factory. If you catch the pop-up Home, Sweet Home event in the Bio Zone, you'll learn how animals stay cozy in their habitats all winter...and then design your own!
