Dear Science Center Friends and Supporters,

I am excited and honored to serve as your Board Chair for the upcoming year.  I want to express my gratitude to the esteemed leaders who have preceded me as well as those currently serving alongside me on our Board of Directors. My sincere appreciation to Gary Crum, our immediate past chair, for his exceptional leadership over the past two years and his numerous contributions to our growth over the past decade. During my Vice Chair tenure, Gary graciously and patiently showed me the ropes – thank you Gary!

My enthusiasm for the Science Center’s mission and vision has been inspired by the entrepreneurial and philanthropic story of my own family, and in particular my dad’s lifelong commitment to STEM-focused education. Dad believed strongly that opportunities to succeed are the true gift of education and that we all have a responsibility to support it. I share his commitment and am excited for the impact we are having in making STEM experiences more accessible for generations of curious learners.  

Looking forward, our journey in the next few years includes many milestones – the groundbreaking for the Northern Virginia Science Center, construction, grand opening, and transforming our organization, mission, and vision for the next decade as we inspire children, youth, families and our entire community to love STEM learning. Along this path, there will be ample opportunities to support this collective effort.  

Thank you for your dedication to the science center and to all that lies ahead. It is through our community’s commitment that we are well positioned for this remarkable journey!
