Girl Scouts

Register your troop for our Girl Scout Programs now available!  These 2-hour workshops designed exclusively for Girl Scouts of America invite scouts to the Lab for hands-on engagement toward the successful completion of a Girl Scout badge. Workshops are designed with specific badges in mind.

Badge workshops are offered Monday – Thursday, 4-6 pm and Sundays, 10 am – 12 pm. Minimum of 8 scouts needed for reservation, maximum of 16 scouts. We require two chaperones per troop, with no charge for the first two chaperones.

$12/scout. Scouts are invited to explore the Lab before or after the program with a $5 additional cost per scout.

Daisies

Robotics – How to identify a robot? At the Children’s Science Center Lab Daisy Scouts will explore the world of robotics. They will create an algorithm and direct a robot, how to design and create a prototype, as well as code the robotic arm!

Design Challenge Badge – Have you ever designed something and tested it out? At the Children’s Science Center Lab Daisy Scouts will explore the world of designing and testing out different prototypes. These prototypes will include race cars to board games. They will demonstrate and present the prototype that is created.

Brownies

Robotics – How to identify a robot? At the Children’s Science Center Lab Brownie Scouts will explore the world of robotics. They will create an algorithm and direct a robot, how to design and create a prototype, as well as code the robotic arm!

Home Scientist – How can you use everyday ingredients to create science magic?  At the Children’s Science Center Lab, Brownie Scouts conduct hands-on experiments to explore the worlds of static electricity, chemical reactions, and properties of matter to reveal the scientific secrets behind seemingly innocent everyday items.

Design Challenge Badge – Have you ever designed something and tested it out? At the Children’s Science Center Lab Daisy Scouts will explore the world of designing and testing out different prototypes. These prototypes will include leapbot and testing out their hovercraft. They will demonstrate and present the prototype that is created.

 

Juniors 

Robotics – How to identify a robot? At the Children’s Science Center Lab Juniors Scouts will explore the world of robotics. They will create an algorithm and direct a robot, how to design and create a prototype, as well as code the robotic arm!

Detective – Mystery at the Lab! Can you solve a “who done it?” puzzle using powers of observation, code-breaking skills, and even fingerprint analysis? At the Children’s Science Center Lab, Junior Scouts are hands-on super sleuths, learning skills to earn the Detective Badge and solving the Mystery at the Lab.
