Youth Leadership Council Leader
The YLC (Youth Leadership Council) Team is looking for one more adult volunteer to serve as a lead for the combined 2nd and 3rd year classes during the upcoming YLC event year. The YLC’s year runs from September 2017 – April 2018. A leadership team meeting will be held in mid-August to plan out the year.
Adult leads serve as mentors to both the YLC members and YLC Education Interns. They run meetings (held on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month at the “Garage” at the Lab from 6:30-8p), and attend Family Science Night events with YLC members to assist as guides for these students as they learn to facilitate activities and interact with audiences.
Adult leads should be comfortable with working with children ages 10-16, and be able to commitment the time for monthly meetings and 1-2 Family Science Night events (5:30-8:30p) each month. Yes, it’s a lot, but well worth the effort! Our current adult leads love their positions and working with these wonderful children.  If you’d like to learn more, please send email to
