Family Science Night
Family Science Night is an evening program for elementary schools designed for parents to self-guide their students through 12 engaging, hands-on STEM activities. The activities are aligned with the Virginia Standards of Science Learning.
The Children’s Science Center provides all supplies and equipment.
Schools are asked to provide a minimum of 18 volunteers for their event.
There is a nominal fee to host a Family Science Night. The fee is waived for Title I Schools.
Due to an abundance of interest, a blind drawing is held each spring to select the 50 lucky schools that will host a Family Science Night event. The selection drawing will be conducted the first week of May, 2018.
The application process for a 2018-19 Family Science Night is now closed. If you’d like to be placed on a waitlist, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
