Family Science Night

Family Science Night is an evening program for elementary schools designed for parents to self-guide their students through 12 engaging, hands-on STEM activities. The activities are aligned with the Virginia Standards of Science Learning.

2018-19 Family Science Night Overview

  • The Children’s Science Center provides all supplies and equipment.

  • Schools are asked to provide a minimum of 18 volunteers for their event.

  • There is a nominal fee to host a Family Science Night. The fee is waived for Title I Schools.

  • Due to an abundance of interest, a blind drawing is held each spring to select the 50 lucky schools that will host a Family Science Night event. The selection drawing will be conducted the first week of May, 2018.

  • Schools may submit applications for the 2018-2019 school year between March 1, 2018 and April 30, 2018.

  • Please send any questions to fsn@childsci.org.
